Illinois Bill Would Disallow Those Who Owe At Least $10,000 in Back Child Support From Appearing on Election Ballots
People who run for elected office are often deemed as community leaders who have lived exemplary lives and who deserve to have the opportunity to hold these offices. While in many cases this is accurate, there are situations where candidates are vetted and found to have serious problems that have led to harm to others. Unfortunately, many of these vetting processes occur after it’s too late and those in question already hold office.
