For many years, it has been assumed by experts and others that when parents suffer through a traumatic experience with regards to one of their children that they are much more likely to wind up pursuing a divorce. This ‘norm’ has been attributed to the extreme emotional struggle that’s part of any cancer diagnosis in a child. However, a recent study appears to contradict that general belief.

Anyone who has been through a divorce understands that it is a stressful and potentially harmful process for several reasons. This is especially so when a divorce is nasty, antagonistic, drawn-out and costly. However, the results of a recent study indicate that the amount of medical harm inflicted on people who have been through a divorce is more severe for younger couples that it is for those who are older.

In many San Diego high asset divorce cases, one of the catalysts to the spouses having a high net worth is a business ownership interest. Unfortunately, when proper planning is not in place and a divorce occurs, the ownership interest of that business and even the viability of that business overall can be placed in jeopardy. This is particularly true when the property division aspect of a divorce case arises and equal value must be provided for each spouse under California’s community property standards.

There are few similarities between British and American divorces when it comes to the laws that govern the situation and how the cases are ultimately decided. However, the psychology of the spouses involved is something that many feel are similar, and according to a recent British survey that questioned spouses who had recently completed a divorce, it was the men who tended to suffer for longer periods of time than the women.
