Erin “Annie” Ruttenber has practiced exclusively in the area of family law helping clients with dissolution of marriage, separation, property division, custody and visitation, spousal support and child support, and domestic violence.
Ms. Ruttenber earned her juris doctor degree from the City University of New York with a concentration in Family Law. During her time there, Ms. Ruttenber developed her knowledge of family law by clerking for two Family Court Judges. She also interned for the Legal Aid Society and the Children’s Law Center of California, where she assisted clients with their family law matters. Upon graduation, Ms. Ruttenber moved to California and began practicing family law.
Ms. Ruttenber graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in philosophy. Ms. Ruttenber then moved to Hawaii. Her passion for family law and helping clients in need began there while working for a child welfare agency. To support this work Ms. Ruttenber became a trained mediator and volunteered at Meditation Services of Maui, where she assisted parties in resolving their legal issues without litigation. Ms. Ruttenber believes there are times when reaching a mediated agreement are more beneficial to her client than litigation.
